Description
You will not be disappointed in this wonderfully hand painted piece by the world reknown William Morley. Retaining its original Gilded Age frame and in very nice condition. A watercolor of a humming bird nestled amongst its favorite orchids. Lush, realistic coloring and nicely detailed.
William Morley gained fame and recognition painting on porcelain for the Lenox Factory at the turn of the 19th century and into the early 1900s. A rare find especially on this scale. We note no damage or tears and the paper seems to be in fine form too. Perhaps the slightest bit of discoloration on the matting, not the painting.
Frame measures 44 and one half inches long and 32 and a quarter wide. The painting measures 27 inches by 18 and a quarter inches. Tall and impressive.
